Feature request for repeat sections

For repeat sections of multiple endings, when an ending other than the final one spans several systems, I’d like to be able to do the following: have the start of the repeat bracket be one, or a few bars long and have the end of it also be one or a few bars. This saves vertical space on intervening systems and looks better than having a horizontal line across each of those systems.

Currently, it seems that Dorico has 3 “End of line” options for the start of the section: “Closed, full length”, “Open, short” and “Open, to next barline” where both of the “Open” options delete the closing line and hook. In Gould (see attached image), she shows the situation of spanning several systems as starting with “Open, to end of system” plus the end of the section as “Open, from beginning of system” (apparently: I can see some argument about what is happening in the // region not shown). Dorico can be made to show the first part of this with one of the “Open” options and then dragging the end of the line to end of the system, but the only way to get the closing part of the bracket (or so I was told in the Forum) is with a line segment in which I had to tweak thichknesses and the length of the hook to make it look right.

So, the feature request for repeat sections is to add “Open, to end of system” to the start of section, but more importantly, similar Open options for end of the section: 1) short, 2) start of bar and 3) start of system.

Not quite the situation I was looking for, but I found yet another variant while looking in published editions that has just a closing bracket on a first ending:

If I’m understanding you correctly, this only takes a few clicks. I just blast the horizontal lines in the middle systems off the page. Here’s a gif:

New to Dorico, I didn’t think of placing them off the page to get the effect. Still would be nice to not have to do this as a hack. Thanks for the idea!
