I am loving Dorico 6! especially the freedom with time signatures. An engraving update I would love to see sometime with 6 is an update for sub brackets. Currently its easy to change the main bracket using instrument families but there is no easy way to get instruments of the same kind to sub bracket without adding another “oboe” changing the name to English Horn and manually changing the transposition in the layout (etc.). Maybe a way to discern this in instrument families, or a similar dialogue box in layout options like the time signatures or custom condensing groups would be awesome!
Not necessarily looking for solutions or work arounds just putting it here as a feature request.
I’m not sure why you don’t want solutions because unless I’m misunderstanding you, there are already a couple of ways to do this. Select something in the staves where you want the sub-brackets, and in Engrave select Insert Sub-bracket.
Or just select the bracket handle and Ctrl+Alt+Arrow to extend it to another staff. Gif below:

the problem is as soon as you do that you implement a bracket change and all of dorico’s auto bracketing when you go to divisi etc goes out the window. so i find it to be more or a pain than helpful. It also means you cant set it up in a template because none of those changes get baked in. so you have to set it up each time. or make sure you never delete the first bracket change
