I’d love to see an expansion of the Pattern Editor in Cubase/Nuendo to allow multi-bar patterns (e.g., 2, 4, 8 or even 16 bars).
Many users create non-repetitive drum parts with nuanced changes in every bar. The current 1-bar limitation makes this process cumbersome and forces us to use multiple separate patterns – or convert to MIDI, which lacks the clarity and rhythm-focused layout of the Pattern Editor.
Alternatively (or additionally), it would be great if the MIDI editor could offer a pattern-style view, including:
- box-style “Step Grid” visualization
- velocity shown below each step
- integrated note repeat and flam functions
- seamless integration with Drum Maps
The goal is to enable a fully detailed and structured drum workflow with the visual clarity of the Pattern Editor, but without being restricted to one bar or needing constant conversion.
Thank you for continuously improving Cubase/Nuendo – this would be a huge step for those of us who program drums in detail.
