I’m not sure where this goes - but I frequently find it frustrating if I have a stack of inserts, and want to add, say, a de-esser at the top - I have to move all of the inserts down one at a time to make room at the top. A right click “Shift all inserts down a row” command would be a time save for me…..
Alternately, you can add the deesser at the end and then drag it up to the top, which will move everything else down.

Does this not affect any automation? Which also would have to be shunted about?
I’m pretty sure when you just drag plugins within the insert slots of a single track brings any automation along with it. That said, it’s rare for me to automate inserts at the stage where I’m needing to reorder plugins, so it’s at least conceivable I’ve just never noticed if there is an issue on this front. I do know, though, that things like sidechain routings to an insert from another track’s send are maintained.
Plugin automation is tied to the plugin, not the slot.
