How soon is this feature expected to become available (approximately), and if I acquire Cubasis now, will this be an automatic update or will I need to buy an upgrade?

Thanks for your note.
As mentioned already, tempo track is included on our feature list for future updates.
I’m not able to give you more infos about the release date for the feature.
Most of the features we release are included in regular updates.
