Feature request: user defined tokens

It would be great to have the possibility of gnerating user defined tokens. This would be an workflow improvement.

Can you elaborate? examples? I am curious because I have thought of that myself.

This has been requested before. At the moment, I think Dorico does give you a large number of project and flow tokens to play with, and it’s important to realize that just because a token is called Editor or Work Number doesn’t mean that you need to use it for that specific purpose – you can store any kind of data you want in that field.

I second to what @asherber said. In addition, for truly infinite tokens:

  1. Create a new flow;
  2. Cmd+I or Ctrl+I and set the new flow’s information that you want to retain;
  3. For all flow-specific tokens (i.e., {@flowtitle@}), insert the specific flow number from which you want to retrieve the information, i.e., {@flow2title@} if the information is set in Flow 2;
  4. Bonus: In Setup mode, select all part layouts and deselect your new flow so it is not included in the prints.

You can specify the flow number to which you want flow tokens to refer, such as {@flow2title@}. This always shows the specified flow, regardless of the token’s position.
