I often have an element selected (note, bar, etc) when I’m either zoomed in or out in Fill View or Page View. When I do the reverse (e.g. zoom out if I’m zoomed in), then it’d be really nice if the selected element remained in the centre of the screen in the new scale view so that I could maintain focus on where I’m working. Usually, I’m working on a specific area, and my zoom in/out is to see how it fits a wider set of bars etc.
In general, Dorico does zoom around the selected item (or items), so this should for the most part already be happening.
What I’ve found is that if I’m in Fill View, it remains in the screen, but is usually in one of the extreme corners, not in the middle stave on the screen. I realise that’s hard to do with fill view, but even making the stave it’s on the one that we’re centered on would be useful.
In Page view, it seems to work better, but again, we’re never really focussed on the selected item, it just happens to be somewhere in the view. It would be nice to have it more in the middle of the screen.
