Right click for tools - like in Cubase: pen, eraser, etc… - would be nice!
There is a context menu (right click) in TRACKs with select etc, no?
There is the context menu (right cllick), but DRAW (pen) is missing - at least - on my version of VST Live.
Also right-click-context seems to be missing for me at MIDI, DMX subwindows:
I know it’s has been discussed before that ramps will be welcome here also in the future (as working eg. in Cubase).
Have to admint, the feature in Cubase 12 pro / File dropdown, export directly to VST Live is great!
Right. Fixed. Next Update.
Right. Added. Next Update.
/Michael.
cool, you’re awesome! By the time, maybe right-click-context menu text items can be replaced with their corresponding icons (pen, eraser, scissor, line… as working at Steinberg from Atari ages if that makes sense).
Please inprove marlers:
1- Add marker track
2-Cycle markers
3- “P” command as in Cubase to create a loop
4- shortcuts to navigate through markers
6-Associate Parts to markers
These are really handy features to loop regions on the fly, fast commands for live purposes
All of this is on the list, thanks!
Doing some DMX setup and have a couple of ideas:
-
In the Graph Zone DMX Channel selector menu, can the channels that have DMX data already set be highlighted in some way? Perhaps an asterisk * at their beginning or end of their channel name, or the channel name in bold?
-
Can we set DMX channel aliases to be displayed next the channel number wherever the channel number is currently displayed? Obviously full fixture management (like QLC+ for example) would be amazing but being able to name DMX channels would be a great start.
Thanks, we added it to our list.
This is essentIial.
Hi!
- If you could extend Snap dropdown list options with “Smart” that snaps to start/end edges of events. That would be lovely.
- A magnifyer that would help select zoom to selected area quicker (e.g. fit hall song to the viewable area or a zoom to selected events, etc…)
cheers,
F
How about being able to view PDF files in VST Viewer in the VST Live Mods app?
-
Add merge/glue tool
-
Setlist window width remembered with save.
… sorry, that’s a bug and it is fixed now.
Michael
Thank you, I see this is implemented in preferences as “Import: Copy Files To Project”. Nice!!
Impoving Assets management
@EnjoyRC, @Spork belive or not, I didn’t check that folder, but after your post is found all my files (wav + peak) in that folder. That creates lot’s of duplicates regardless if it’s required/asked or not. I didn’t know before VST Live is creating duplicates on my storage if “Store Assests in Project Folder” isn’t selected/active. As user of different DAW of video-editors, there is always the question/option/default value whether to create a copy in project folder or use from their original location. Furthermore if assets are not found, there is always opportunity to relink them by poiting to their new location.
So I agree, this topic/feature - as "more sophisticated "handling of assets - request seems to be a important one!
Way of creating / modifying / deleting LYRICS seems to be more complicated and less-intuitive to me in 2023.
Improving Lyrics handling with:
Allow drop new Lyric entries by double mouseclick in LYRICS windows at clicked position (even in Tracks view) would be lovely.
Somehow as working in Key editor (MIDI subwindow) using pencil / eraser. Save time by no need to walk up to the + / - buttons faaaaar away…
also would be lovely being able edit current lyric line right at their position instead of mousing up to the TEXT box in header to edit line…
Zoom slider operating range. On my screen resolution all moovements are covered at the first 10% of the slider (located in the right top header of Lyrics window). Sure, I don’t know if the remaining 90% slider range to the right is a must have on larger screens or not.
Any further improovements are welcome
Would it be possible to set a -2 and -1 bar in the metronome? So that when you use Pre-Roll, the count from bar -2 is visible (also in VST Live Mods)?
In a live set up it doesn’t make sense to have the metronome audible, but the visual count is not visible in Pre-Roll.
First of all, congratulations for developing this program. I missed something like this from a lot of time ago. Mainly I will use for orchestral templates while composing with Sibelius or Dorico.
- Darker colors a la Cubase-Nuendo interface.
- For me the Windows menu font is ugly. If I may suggest, please use standard font.
- Save, open or close shortcuts seem to not exist but if you press Ctrl+S it will save the project.
- Please remove vlprj extension from title. VLPRJ is difficult to read it. Of course all the projects are with that extension.
- I have found that Tap tempo is hidden, but it is available in shortcuts. And works.
- International keyboard not supported. For example, it is impóssible to write “Orquestación” or to save a file with that characters.
- Even though if you customized your MIDI ports to other name that MIDI IN 1, it always assigns it or it is available in menu.
- Please add part number indication next to name
- MIDI port colors utility in Layers is not visible
- Option to automatically open the last project when the program is launched.
- When adding a layer at the end of the page, the application does not autoscroll well.
- Please, make Song and parts font size smaller: for example same size as layer name
- Please, add the capability of Launch a program after loading a Song
- For me, the virtual keyboard should display the MIDI input you want to monitor.
- The virtual keyboard should be able to be docked in the lower area above the transport bar.
- The Trigger description/option in each part takes up a lot of space. As, wlways will be a trigger, just putting the time is enough.
- Stereo Out MIdi remote only works in the first part. Once you assigned it to a MIDI Shortcut, it can’t be controlled remoted on the other parts.
I wish you like the suggestions.
Thanks for your work
We will add an option to choose to copy media files (or not ) when exporting soon.
