Yep, I’m aware! Ha!
I’d just rather set audio to be at a level where my faders are as close to zero as possible. And I’d not want to add a compressor and therefore processing use.
Seems like if we can turn up a wav 6db, why not more? And why not normalise to 0?
Just emagine, if all your materials are normalised to 0dB (and probably are the loudest around the same time), how would you describe your volume level? 0dB is the maximum in digital-sound. Meanwhile with a 16bit audio, there are 65536 possible steps, with 17bit it would be x2, and with 24bit Audio… I don’t think it’s matter in terms of live performance to keep your files maxed to 0dB. Meanhwhile if your audios are quiet normalising won’t do too much, but also increase noise as it is part of the signal.
Yep, I’m aware of all this, however if I have a premixed backing track for a show that is too quiet compared to other songs I’d rather be able to easily boost the wav file than go back and remix the song for the sake of a few db. If the sounds are all digital anyway, noise, especially in the live environment will be negligible. Almost certainly less than the hum of an idle guitar amp.
it depends, … I personally prefer re-bounce my mixes if tiny adjustmenst aren’t enough, but I see your point. However there is no normalising in VSTLive, but again, can push 6dB in the header, can push channel fader up or can insert any plugin to gain.
Once again, a reminder for allowing to change lyric colors for individual lines. At least a palette of fixed colours that can be used to color code lines individually. Thank you.
As a professional musician, doreco integration would be great… Just adding a simple score that follows the song time would be amazing… Or just Doreco for Ipad following tempo, start, stop and bars:Beats.
Would like to see a way of creating DMX fixtures with an assignable number of channels/faders (not just all 512), the fixture can then just be dropped into a track and easily programmable using the channel faders and/or on/off button (recorded on the fly or dropping in at a beat/time ) rather than drawing dots and changing parameters
I’m running a fairly simple setup in VST Live 2 — one stack for vocals and one for guitar.
Between songs, I’d like to tune my guitar using a tuner plugin with the graphical interface visible on screen, while at the same time bypassing vocal effects like pitch correction and reverb so I can talk to the audience.
Would it be possible to implement a global tuner, similar to what’s available in Gig Performer?
Alternatively, could you add the ability to close plugin editor windows via MIDI? Right now, I can open the plugin editor window with a MIDI command, but I can’t close it the same way.
At the moment, my workaround is to add a final part to each song for tuning and talking — but often the tuner interface stays open even after switching to the next part, which isn’t ideal.
I have never seen anything better than GTune, how sensitive and precise it is, you can put it at the beginning of the stack and just mute the rest with automation or a midi command, I think GVST GTune - free chromatic tuner VST plugin
Thanks, I’ve tried this one but it closes the whole VST Live app if a plugin window isn’t opened. I’d like to use the same midi command to open and close a specific plugins editor window, but if there is no plugin window open the Close Window-action shuts down the whole program for me.
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll try it out! I’ve been really happy with the free version of Submission audios LockOn-tuner as well. Very precise and easy to read.
Ok, good to know thanks! might be a problem on my end. I’ll try again later with with two different midi commands for opening and closing the window if there is some kind of conflict.
There is a need to press the button when no plugin is open because I’d like opening and closing to be handled by the same midi command. I also have the same midi command toggling processing on and off for the guitar and vocal effects.
No, I tried it, it’s not fit to hold a candle to its inertia (I’m telling you, I tried everything) like all the others, with GTune you can, as they say, play live without turning it off and it almost keeps up with you)))
