I do a lot of pit work and sometimes I am combining several parts into one so I use Cubase to prepare my music for this. Some time there is a bar made up of several rests with a fermata over one or more of these rest. While I couldn’t just put the fermata symbol over the rest I could hide the original rest symbol and then use ‘User Symbols’ where I had created a fermata symbol and various rest symbols to reflect the required bar with the fermata properly placed over the right beat. I can’t find any way to do this in Cubase Pro 14 or 15 and so have reverted back to 13 for scoring.
I also would like to add text not tied to a system/bar/beat so I could add the none musical notations I often need during a performance.
Lastly, in show scores, bars are not always sequential since overtime the scores are altered. In 13 and below I could do bar offsets to ensure my numbering stayed in sync with the conductor’s score.
The fermata on a rest and the bar number offsets are both show stoppers for me and I am hoping someone may know a reasonable work around so I can do all my work in 15.
