Few workflow requests

Overall, super happy with Cubase 14. Still, I always stumble upon small things that could be improved for my workflow, and trying again in a thread

  1. Inspector working with folded tracks. With many tracks in folders, I often have the situation that in the lower zone mixer I click a track to adjust a bit, but the inspector is not showing me Inserts/etc. of a track until I’ve opened the folder it’s in.. Would be great if the inspector always shows info..
  2. Focus of Audio Editor. After cutting up a longer audio file, and then pressing Ctrl-E to edit one event, the audio editor always seems to be in a completely different place, so I need to scroll. It’s not even opening where transport is.. Am I doing something wrong?
  3. Ctrl-Click to Audition on Track. When on a Lane, Ctrl-Click allows me to quickly audition the audio. Would be great to have this also for the Track itself, instead of switching to audition tool and back.. just more convenient and don’t see why not implemented..
  4. Fix warp marker creation, esp. within parts. Warp markers sometimes don’t get fully created from hitpoints, esp. when in parts - see here. Support seems aware of it.
  5. Fix bounce/render for muted events. Still an open issue, see here. Should apparently be fixed in 14.0.30 according to support
  6. Combine “Adapt to Zoom” and Quantize. When zooming in, instead of going 1/32, 1/64, fix it to quantize grid, or other way round, when in Grid mode “Quantize”, start rounding to bars once really zoomed out. Reported here

For 2., here’s an example: upon pressing Ctrl-E for the audio segment, the editor shows me an entirely unrelated piece of the audio file.

→ why opening at bar 70??

And finally a question out of curiosity, what’s the meaning of these white lines?

You can enable the auto-zoom to event option in the Sample Editor (what you refer to as the audio editor).

Ctrl is already used for temporarily disabling the grid. So that would have to be changed. Such a change would probably lead to a ton of posts “why does Steinberg change that without anybody requesting it”.

Those are the channels that are controlable by MIDI Remote.

Thank you @Johnny_Moneto for the swift reply! Actually, I think I wanted Clip-based Zoom (I don’t want Zoom level to change, but at least be in the correct part of the sample). Good to know still!

Not quite, @Johnny_Moneto . The difference is Ctrl and then Click vs. Click and then Ctrl. This works inside a Lane: if press ctrl, then click, it will play back the audio. If I click on event, then press Ctrl, I can move it free of grid.

Am I missing something? Thanks for quick answers
