Figured bass closing editorial bracket after hold line

I’ve looked on the forum for solutions to this, but no success.

I’m deep in the joys of adding figured bass to an organ part. Mostly I’m impressed with the flexibility of the process, so congratulations to the designers. However…

The editorial closing bracket after a hold line that’s offered in the properties panel in Engrave Mode is tiny (ringed in screenshot).

I would like it full size as in the following image:

The workaround I used here is to make a full size bracket as a Playing Technique, attach it to the B half note, and move it into place in Engrave Mode.

Although this works it’s a rubbish solution since the added bracket then appears in the various layouts that include the Org. part without showing figures, so that the bracket then has to be hidden in each layout and each flow (and I’m using playing technique ficta so I can’t just search for all playing techniques in a flow and hide them). In layouts that include the Org. part with figures the added bracket is likely in the wrong place and its position needs to be adjusted again as a Local property. Also the added bracket doesn’t quite match the opening bracket in shape, though I can live with that.

I have maybe 30 occasions in this (long) piece when I need to use a closing bracket in this situation, with more pieces to follow, so if anyone has a solution or a quicker workaround that would be brilliant. (I also tried adding a text item, btw, with similar issues arising.)

Chris (hoping that I’ve missed something obvious!)

I don’t think you’re missing anything at the present time, Chris, but I agree it would be good if Dorico were a bit smarter in this situation. We’ll look into it in due course.
