Is there a setting or a key combination for the popup that makes it possible to have 64 53 on two adjacent bass notes but only 54 3 on two other adjacent bass notes? If the Engraving Options are set to show all, I get 54 53 for the second example, which I find redundant and cluttered. I haven’t been able to find a way to hide just the 5 under the second note. If the Engraving Options are set to show only the 3 in the resolution, I get 64 3 for the first example, which is incorrect.
I found that for the second example I can enter 54->3 and then drag the 3 to the next note but somehow this feels like a workaround.
Next problem. How can I enter a 6 under one bass note and a 5 under the next? If I enter them sequentially as I would expect, I get 53 under the second note and there’s nothing I can do to hide the 3. Placing <> around the 3 gets ignored, despite its hiding numbers in other spots. If I enter 6->5 and drag the 5 to the resolution note, Dorico adds an unwanted 3 under the 6 which, again, I can’t remove.
Yes, I’m having to place exclamation marks before many of the figures in the popover to force literal input. I remember that input options setting and I looked for it but for some reason it’s no longer in Note Input Options, nor is it in Engraving Options/Figured Bass.
I believe they removed that option from Note Input Options and I’m wary of forcing literal input. If I need to transpose a piece, won’t that prevent Dorico from altering the figures correctly?
Sorry. Just found it. They moved it from Preferences to a separate Note Input Options window.
