Currently it shows all the files in all subfolders. How do I change this back to how it was in previous versions of cubase.
Hi and welcome to the forum,
It was the very same in the previous Cubase versions. There is a button to enable/disable the subfolders show.
Hi! No it was never like that for me before.
Where is the button? I find the button in media bay, but the right panel file browser still shows all the files. Thanks
Hi,
In the MediaBay Rack, it’s like this, since te MediaBay Rack has been introduced. The button has been always present.
hi
thats the thing, the button is not there anymore, it always used to be, but in this version (13) its gone =)
example. every single file is shown here, not just the files that are in the actual parent folder. previous versions of cubase it has always worked as expected. and i cant find where i change it.
yes i know, but thats not the question nor the answer.
i want to use File Browser since thats what Ive always used and are used to.
that “other” view is very confusing and i cant browse local files as easily there, its just not the same at all. thanks though
Click that button, change the sub-folder option, go back to Home and select File Browser. You should get the view you’re after.
No that unfortunately doesn’t help
Yup.
And in previous version (last version I used was 10.5) only files in selected folder was shown, not all the files.
Do you know where I change it back?
… And I’m not after a specific “view”. I just want it to show files only in selected folder like it always was before that’s all
I think I finally understand your problem. And yes, it’s strange. This is how mine looks:
This button has no effect on the File Browser tab. Not for me, anyways.
Exactly… It has no effect. File browser still shows everything. Very strange
funny thing it looks and works as expected in the actual Media Bay. But not in the right panel File Browser
This is why God gave us walls - so we could beat our heads against them!
Deleting the file user preferences.xml in /users/appdata/roaming/steinberg/cubase 13_x64/ solved the issue.
Still wondering what setting it is I happened to change somewhere, or if it’s a bug.
