I’ve noticed when exporting long audio files as mp3, the end of the audio is missing, almost as if I put the end marker in the wrong place. If I export as wav it exports the complete file so this only happens when exporting to mp3.
To recreate the problem…
- Create empty project
- Add an audio track (I’ve only noticed this with larger files, e.g. 1 hour long audio files)
- Put the markers at start and end of the audio file
- Select ‘file’, ‘export’, ‘audio mixdown’
- Change file format to MPEG 1 Layer 3 File, 320kBit, 44.100 kHz
→ Result = Import mp3 back into project and you should notice some of the audio missing from the end of the mp3 when comparing to the file you were trying to export.
I have a file converter program called Switch Sound File Converter and if I open a wav into there it converts the whole file to mp3 perfectly without missing any of the end of the audio, which leads me to believe it must be a problem with Cubase.
