Filling empty measures in complex metrics

Dear Community,
why, for complex metrics, Dorico fill empty measures in this way (in the 2/4 it is a measure rest, in the 4/4+2/4 it fills the 4/4 with two half-rest and the 2/4 with a measure rest)? It is confusing for the musicians. A way to change it? Thanks
Fabien

Couldn’t find a global setting for that, I’m afraid. This will cause beaming problems. [4]/4|2/4. Also, bar rest is not centered.

Dear Jesper,

thank you for answer.

I think Dorico has a small bug here for compound measures (or maybe I haven’t figured out how to fix it), breaking down the rests for the first part and putting a measure rest for the second part. This creates strange results, for example for 4/4 + 2/4.

Anyone an idea?

Fabien

How do you get the measures filled with rests? This is what I get with empty measures.

Dear Jesper,

I want the compound metric with the slashed bar and use therefore the metric 3/4|2/4

Fabien

I understand, but by default, it shows a single bar rest. How do you get it to show the rests? Did you enter rests manually?

Jesper

no, it is automatic (big orchestral score)

This is definitely not the default behaviour (in any score).

Yes, I’ve been searching for an option, but in vain.

I found a local solution in forcing the writing for the 4/4 + 2/4 and writing a (not centered) whole rest in the 4/4.
