Hi there,
i am aware and grateful for the Filter Instruments View option.
Maybe there is a feature i am not aware of, but if not, I would love to see the following in the next version:
Say you have selected a bar and you quickly want to see only staves which have content at this very selected bar/cycle/locator position . Does this exist yet?
This could be super helpful, especially in galley view when having loads of instruments (and doubling instruments) and you just want to quickly toggle seeing staves with content vs having to scroll through everything…
Thanks
David
p.s. this is referring to the cubase function “Track Visibility Agent” incl: Tracks with data, Tracks with data between Locators, etc.*
Hi @David_Menke, and welcome back to the Forum.
And yes: I love Cubase’s Track Visibility Agent, but in Dorico there are ways to have a similar result:
you can easily (in Write mode) Select all (or select a desired range of bars using the System Track) then Filter for notes and Chords, then in galley view, just create a new Instrument Filter clicking on the + in the instrument filter overlay:
Thanks so much Christian, this is indeed a beautiful workaround , i guess i can programm a script or keyboard maestro to do this procedure with one click!
thanks so much again, as well for the video, very much appreciated
David
here is my little script, you can trigger after having selected notesSCRIPT - VISIBILITY : Show only staves with content (selection)
On line 3, I think you should delete everything from ? through 52. Those look like project-specific identifiers, and the script works just fine without them.
ok cool thanks! i just recorded the macro (not able to script manually)
thanks!
of course at the end of the day (literally) with this workaround you end up with loads of Filter Views which you need to clean up maybe!-)
