Finale to Dorico percussion issue

Hello all, I’m pretty new to Dorico coming from Finale. I’ll get straight to the point from here. I had a pretty massive project on Finale 26, it was 20+ minutes long. When the news came out with Finale I was hesitant to if I should transition to Dorico, after some thinking I decided to move to Dorico around December, along with getting Finale 27 so I could transfer my MusicXML’s. I also bought NotePerformer4 because I’m a playback nerd. With this project of mine I’ve been attempting to finish it finally, but my limiting factor is percussion. Because I wrote all the percussion already in Finale and the maps are different in Dorico, everything got screwed up, from noteheads to sounds. Some of my percussion instruments are flute sounds for some reason, and sometimes they don’t play at all. Also struggling to write it due to the different ways of writing from Dorico to Finale. But I’m lost right now for what to do, whether it is because of Finale, or Dorico, or even NotePerformer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not great with percussion, but I cant tell you that when Dorico doesn’t know what the instrument is, in an XML file, then it uses Flute by default.
You should just be able to change the Instrument assigned to the Player.

There are some great videos that deal with percussion, and it’ps worth sitting down with a hot drink and watching them.
