Fingering shifts only appear in part layouts

After going into each instrument’s part and adding fingering shifts, they all appeared okay individually, but after returning to the full score (and without making any changes), the fingerings remain but the shifts disappear.

Obviously I can just reinput the shifts but this is a bit of a pain to do for all the fingerings.

I’ve attached pictures of a bar of the full score and two of the parts where there are fingering shifts that should also automatically appear in the main score.

Thanks for any help!

Go to each of the part layouts in turn, Select All, Edit > Filter > Notes & Chords (very near the top of the list) then go Edit > Propagate Properties.

That’s worked perfectly, but is there a reason it isn’t happening by default?

Yes. Layouts are currently entirely separate from the point of view of properties, except for a few specific exceptions (of which fingerings themselves are one). This allows for maximum flexibility, but is a nuisance in many cases (as you’ve discovered). As an interim measure, Propagate Properties was implemented. It takes the properties of whatever you’ve selected and applies to the same item in all score and part layouts (though not custom layouts IIRC).

Ah okay great. Thanks for the explanation.
