for those of you having issues with your RME asio driver not populating as an asio option in Cubase studio setup.
Here is the fix I found:
Go to windows “add or remove programs” to uninstall the existing “RME Fireface USB” driver.
Download and reinstall RME USB driver: “driver_usb_win_1250”
Restart your PC.
When you open Cubase it will see that there is a new driver and prompt you to select the new “ASIO Fireface USB” Driver.
NOTE: When I selected YES, the dialog responded that the driver was not successfully installed… IGNORE THAT.
Just move forward as if it is installed correctly, because it is.
Go to Cubase studio setup.
clik “Audio System” (top left)
clik "ASIO Driver / dropdown field. (top right) and select “ASIO Fireface USB”
Hit apply, Hit OK, and you are good to go.
There may be other settings that you want to change by going into the RME driver Control Panel.
Here’s how to get there:
On the left side of the studio setup dialog box, clik on “ASIO Fireface USB”
there you will see your fireface input and output channels.
Clik on Control Panel to see RME driver settings.
