If I import XML files in any other software I can see the dynamics
indication (pp,p,mf,f ,crescendo< etc) and the track sound correct
and in the Piano Roll you see the velocity changes
IF I IMPORT XML in Cubase (8.5-9-10 ) I CAN SEE ALL THE DYNAMICS INDICATIONS BUT THE VELOCITY IS FIXED AND
THE TRACK PLAYS IN THE SAME WAY FOR THE WHOLE DURATION (i.e. no p,f, or crescendo etc..)
Oh,Oh : No, I have never used it . I’ve been using Cubase for many years but it is so full of tools that I lost it. I hope that this Dynamic mapping will help to solve the problem. Now I find it in the Piano Roll>Articulations , but I click OK and nothing happens …
(I import an xml file where I see all the Dynamics pp…ff but in the
Piano Roll all the note velocities are =90 ) Are you so kind as to explain how to use this “Dynamic Mapping” ? Thanks
P.S. > I tried to put Dynamics in the lane of Piano Roll using “Dynamic Mapping”and when I play I hear the difference.
But if I switch to the lane of “Velocities” they are still all =90 !? I don’t understand…
When you say pp … ff, it only see that type of thing in the articulations lane. Where do you see them?
If you setup the Dynamic Mapping to change velocities, it will modify the recorded velocity (on playback) based on the dynamic you enter in the lane.
I use it with Halion Symphony Orchestra which uses the Mod. Wheel (CC#1) to control the volume. Other programs do that as well… mostly orchestral stuff…
Importing XML in Cubase I see all the Dynamics indication IN THE SCORE , but if I go in the Piano Roll/Key Editor I see all the notes having velocity=90. Now the question is : how can I modify these velocities using “Dynamic Mapping” ? as written in my P.S. above I put some dynamics on the Piano Roll using Dynamic Mapping" and on PLAYBACK I hear the difference BUT IF I SWITCH TO THE VELOCITY ALL THE VALUE ARE STILL =90 AS BEFORE …
