{@FlowTitle@} doesn't work on top frame of First Page layout

Hi All,

Why can’t I use the {@FlowTitle@} tag at the top of “First” page layout?
I have a collection of seperate pieces, and I want each flow to start with the First Page style layout, but editing the First layout and replacing Project Title with Flow Title results in no text. (Info is fille into the flow info in “Project Info”).

What if you use {@flow1title@} instead?

The reason the flow title at the very top isn’t appearing is because flow headings are shown (that’s the smaller title “1. Sleepers Awake”), and presumably these options are set to hide flow titles above flow headings:

If you want to use the First page template whenever a new flow starts, and have it show the flow title at the top, make sure you’ve edited the First page template itself (and not just double-clicked directly on page 1, which creates a page override and won’t affect the start of flow 2 onwards)

If you don’t need the extra “1. Flow 1” etc flow headings anywhere in this layout, turn them off here:

This works, but means manually doing this for each flow which doesn’t seem the ideal way to handle it.

Hi Lillie,

I think you’re misunderstanding what I am asking about.

I want the Flow Title to appear where the Project Title usually appears by default.

I have already modified First Page Template to replace {@ProjectTitle@} with {@FlowTitle@} but the flow title text does not populate, and leaves the Title Text area appearing blank. You can see the top text frame is blank in my second image, even though the information is entered into the Project Info.
You can see in the first image that I have replaced the {@ProjectTitle@} tag in the top text frame with the {@FlowTitle@} tag, but it doesn’t work.

I’ve left the flow titles (the currently visible title) where it is for the moment to show that the flow titles are applied to the project info and the flowtitles tag appears to be working - it just isn’t working when used in the Text Frame that usually holds the Project Title by default.

Did you not read Lillie’s recommendation?
You need to set the appropriate Layout Options - probably something like this…

That’s labelled as the “Header”? Well that’s confusing…
The ‘header’ is the text at the top of non-first pages. “Flow Title In Header”.

That’s a bad label, because that’s not what a Header is…
