In ‘Galley View’ follow playhead the view only scrolls onwards when the playhead is quite near the right hand edge.
When reviewing scores in real time I’d prefer the playhead remained nearer the middle of the scrolling pane. So I’d get more advanced warning of what was about to be played.
Can I set this behaviour anywhere?
[Aside : I think this fits better with how musicians think - we’d look at what is going to happen and then expect it to happen, as though we had played ourselves. Looking at notes which have already been played is not a habit we want. Indeed it’s quite a dangerous habit. If (when?
) we mess up in live performing the very last thing we want to do is distract ourselves and “hold an inquest” on the notes that messed up! - that is practising not performing.
I’m very open to any other helpful suggestions.
[I found some similar posts but they seem to be complaining about other issues - this is a very specific issue which only really affects me when I’m reviewing a score]
