Temporarily change the appearance of the kit as 1-line staves and copy the rest on one of those lines (by the means of ALT+clicking), then reset the appearance to 5-line-staff.

So, how do you tell Dorico to change an implicit rest to an explicit rest? I’ve tried the suggestions below, but can’t get it to work. I want to have two half rests in a percussion part so that I can put a fermata over the 2nd rest.
