Since the addition of the Audio Segment Detection feature as part of the Range Tool in 14.0.20, I’ve noticed a regression when enabling the Combine Selection Tools button
and the preference “Use mouse wheel for event volumes and fades”.
It is no longer possible to execute the Split Range key command (Shift+X on Windows by default) against an audio event and increase or decrease it’s volume without an additional mouse click to select the actual event.
Executing Split Range shows that the info line is still in Range Tool mode so any attempt to use the mousewheel to adjust the volume will not work.
Selecting the already highlighted event again shows that the info line is now using the Object Selection Tool mode and I can now adjust the volume using the mousewheel.
However, having the ability to use the mousewheel to adjust the relative volume when using the Range Tool would sidestep this issue completely.
