select a range on a dialog track where I want to replace a sound (mouth click, whatever) with room tone.
move down to a track below which has room tone (with selection range intact) and copy.
move back up and delete audio in that range
paste in what is now a gap.
hit crossfade.
now, at this point Nuendo appears to be crossfading “over” the new audio and overlapping the original clips gap. Can anyone explain the logic in this? I would have thought that it would either not crossfade anything since there’d be no overlaps at all, or do crossfades where the clips touch each other - at the “borders”…
I would check and see if you are copying multiple audio tracks (ones under the top one but on the same track). Expand to lanes view may reveal this. I would also check the paste and see if there are layers of audio for when you hit crossfade, it will fade across the entire length of the audio file if there are layers selected when you crossfade.
