Hello everyone,
I would like to know if it will be possible in the future to add these options to recreate Henle Verlag/New Breitkopf edition cues.
- Cues on multibar rests. This is useful to save space when the cue consists of a musical phrase in anacrusis.
- Show slurs/ties only partially. Sometimes I need to show only a part of a musical phrase and highlight the slur. In this example, Vl. I ends the phrase on a C in the third bar. Right now I can show the slur only if I “complete” the phrase. I saw something similar also for notes tied between barlines, but I cannot find a good example of this at the moment.
Would it be possible to create something like this in the future?
For (2) you could create a dummy player that’s hidden from the score, where you can put the line to be cued but with shortened slurs. You will have to change the cue start text and maybe re-shape the slur so it extends past the last note. Also you lose the 1:1 correspondence between the cue and the source material so take caution when the music changes.
(1) admittedly looks very neat (and immediately understandable) in this example but having the bars Not Add Up is probably a big no-no, semantics-wise.

For (1) you could create a separate player from which to generate cues and replace the anacrusis with a grace note scaled to cue size and tied to the following note:
Then move the grace note before the barline in note spacing mode and the cue can look like this:

Thank you @hrnbouma and @johnkprice for the workarounds!
