I find myself using Scrub Playback much more than I would have imagined. One thing that I am missing in comparison to regular playback is a counterpart feature to Play from Selection.
Side note: while I acknowledge that mouse use is the natural origin for scrub playback, personally I could see good use for a Preferences setting to make scrubbing a keyboard-only feature (which I find to give much better control), especially if that could then mean that in-scrub editing would become possible (e.g.: changing pitches while they are rendered).
