How can I get an undertitle in the score? I can’t figure it out. Although I added a subtitle in the score info , there is nothing in the score.
One needs to add the subtitle token to the Page Template, which I do not think is yet possible in the iPad version.
See if you can open this in Dorico for iPad.
SubtitleTemplate.dorico (1.3 MB)
(One should be able to turn off page numbers on the first page using the Properties Panel.)
Yes, I can import the template score into Dorico for IPad. But how can I use this template? I can’t find an option to import something into an existing score. And there seem to be no way to use an other page -template than the two standard templates ( without subtitles) , which are in the app. Quite frustrating !
Can you set up the new score (or a copy thereof) with the instruments you need and then copy/paste or export/import flows into the new format?
If I may step in here: yes, once you have a project open on the iPad you can import a flow by using the Jump Bar (and typing “Import Flow”…“Enter”).
Thanks for your help, but it’s rather to complicated to make a score without a subtitle, then import it as a flow into an existing template with a subtitle. And all that just to get a subtitle!
wibem1, have you actually tried the suggestion? as it is not complicated at all. You will have to know your way around the Files application on your iPad, though.
You will have to store the kindly provided file SubtitleTemplate.dorico
at a location of your files, where you can access it. As Ben suggested, you can open it and further tailor it to your needs (by adding instruments, setting your preferred layout options and so on). Make duplicates of that file, may be even rename them with your future projects.
These are your personal templates .
When you have finished inputting your music into a “regular” project on your iPad,
- open the template file
- import your newly created flow(s)
Dorico on the iPad represents the desktop SE or Elements version of Dorico. With these versions you don’t get the full Engraving Options, like in the Dorico Pro version.
But luckily there are clever ways to at least get some of that functionality, as in the example of this thread.
