This is spinning at a level comparable with current U.S. politics! ![]()
I’ve got vouchers for Wavelab, Dorico, Absolute and Tonalic Essential. Anyone who needs them, send me a personal message. First come, first served.
There is nothing out of context here.
You are calling the $99.99 price for updating Absolute 6 to Absolute 7 a discount.
I don’t consider this a discount.
This is the normal update price available to existing Absolute 6 users because they already own the previous version.
There have been Steinberg sales in the past that offered real discounts, like 20% off or 50% off, for updating a product to the newest version. That’s different from simply offering the normal existing-user update price.
I’m not saying the $99.99 update price isn’t a good price. I’m saying that I don’t think it’s accurate to call the normal existing-user update price a discount just because it is lower than the full price.
This is now just hair splitting.
Yes, it is the normal update price, but it is still a discount on the full price.
I’d really appreciate if you could share your voucher for Spectralayers Pro 13 with me, I’d like to buy that one ![]()
BINGO !! $ 99 is the regular update price genuis ! That’s the entire point those of us who are chiming in already get a $99.99 update price, so when someone tells me you already get a discount, it just shows me, you’re refusing to recognize the issue. But I’m not going to point it out any further, but now everyone knows what you’re doing, and it’s not cool. It’s actually pretty disrespectful of Steinberg to throw this in the face of Absolute 6 owners faces.
I also support companies like Acustica Audio where when I buy a product, depending on how much I spend, they offer me more of a discount, I think I’m up to 50% off now on anything they drop ( typically unless otherwise written from a 3rd party companies like Dangerous Music for example ).
Point being Steinberg owns Cubase, and they shouldn’t punish you if you already supported them, as I said good job Steinberg, on punishing your own customers for supporting you. Weird way of showing us loyalty back!
I guess it’s a bit ironic to see these vouchers in my account, when i own ALL of them. Anyway, i never buy full price the last years- i am up to my ears with programs and samples and plugins, i may as well stop buying anything for years… So again i 'll wait for a sale for upgrading to Absolute 7, but the fair thing from Steinberg would be to reward me from the first release for owing all their major products (Cubase Pro, Dorico Pro, Wavelab Pro, Absolute, Spectralayers) !
Dorico Pro, Wavelab Pro, Absolute, Spectralayers
If you list these 4 vouchers together on eBay for 50 euros, you’re sure to find a professional reseller who will buy them from you, I think. However, selling items here is not allowed; that’s also stated in the forum rules.
Yes, to be fair, we must acknowledge that Steinberg regurlaly offers discount prices also for upgrading their products, which is of course very nice for us, owners.
Perhaps you haven’t previously experienced how vouchers are presented when vouchers promotions occur.
Vouchers are presented. If you find one or several of interest, you can take advantage. If not, you don’t.
It’s not like voucher programs are tailored specifically to “you” and what you own. ![]()
Buy the company. You can then decide definitions ![]()
Exactly.
Besides, he can always trade in the voucher for something he doesn’t need for a voucher for something he does need. He can trade in the voucher for “SpectraLayers Pro” for a voucher for a hug from Taylor Swift or whatever. Vouchers are like cash.
