Hi, today I received an email from Steinberg offering me a free update to Cubase 15LE but when I log to my account there’s code to use. Long time ago I received such an offer because I had registered a LE version I got with some hardware. I used the code and then upgraded to Element and then Artist(Steinberg marketing worked!!) so I guess I don’t have a LE version anymore since I upgraded my license. A quick search on Google seems to suggest I should see a Redeem activation code option in SDA but there’s nothing.
So, is there something I don’t get or Steinberg database doesn’t see that I can’t update a LE license since I swapped for higher tier licenses but sends me the email anyway at the same time of thousands of people? Thanks
P.S. I stopped upgrading at Artist 10 but would like to test drive 15, even if only LE, on my M1 Mac
Hi,
If you upgraded to Artist, your original LE license changed to Elements and Artist. With the Artist license, you can start Elements and LE.
But you are right, this offer doesn’t make sense for you.
But you can try Cubase Pro 15 for free for 60 days with Cubase Trial.
Hi, Thanks for the reply. That makes sense… that this offer doesn’t make sense to me.
Do you see a license for Cubase LE in the Steinberg Activation Manager?

Note that the Cubase LE license is no longer versioned.
Hi, Thanks for your reply. In my products I saw Cubase LE 11, that I didn’t know I had quite frankly! But I only a see the affiliated downloads on the right of SDA and don’t see anything I ca redeem. In SAM, I don,t have anything I can redeem too. On a side note, this quite an involved process!! Open SDA, a web page opens to log in but stays over SDA. I find nothing there so I open SAM, nothing there too. I downloaded C15 LE in the other products section but obviously as I don’t have a license authorized in SAM, it doesn’t open complaining there’s no license. Anyway…
I received the same email. I had a Cubase LE 4 license that I received with an old Tascam interface (my first experience with Cubase). I went from that to buying Cubase Studio 5 outright (before I knew about discounts for upgrades). Anyway, there is currently absolutely no sign of a Cubase LE license anywhere in my Steinberg account. Very strange.
