I’m having frequent crashes in Cubase 10 Pro, and I can’t find a common denominator with what’s causing it. I saw in another post a request for a dump file, but in looking for that location, I don’t even see a dump file folder, despite the fact that I’m probably approaching my 10th crash this week. Thankfully the .bak files usually have most of what I had been doing and I’m now hitting ctrl+S after I do pretty much anything but this isn’t sustainable.
What’s described here is basically my problem, but frankly I don’t understand a lot of the solutions. I don’t know how to trash the preferences or whatever. It seems completely random what I’ll be doing pre-crash. The ones I can remember are:
-copy-dragging a bar’s worth of arpeggios
-copy dragging a section
and most recently,
-adding a reverb effect as a send
I’m working with pretty small projects here, just following along with tutorials and this is happening. As above, I’ll freeze for just a few seconds and then poof, Cubase is gone with no dump file, no nothing.
I don’t know a ton about computer specs but I think these are the relevant ones:
Intel i7 processor
16 gb ram
64 bit on windows 10
Any ideas? Apparently this issue plagued users in 9.5 but I guess it’s still getting me here in 10.
Another one to add just now. Clicked on the little E button on my guitar part after trying out various VST amp presets (no issues while cycling through like 20 of them, but then when I tried to open it again, poof, gone again.)
So I tried to use the “Problem Report” function another user suggested in the post I linked. I’ll post this garbledygooko and hopefully this will mean something to someone:
