G.P. (general pause)

Hi,

Please, is there a G.P. (general pause) function in Dorico or a symbol (I don’t see it in the pauses menu) n - or is this done by text?

IIRC we enter it with System Text and move it to the center of the measure. Nothing automatic yet.

Hi @stephen.bashforth you can modify another Fermata symbol that you never use. I for example edited the Henze fermata (in menu Library/Music Symbols…), so that it displays the G.P. nicely centred in the Bar (and press the star icon in the bottom left of the editor, to have this as default for new projects).

Too bad we cannot change the Tool Tip text to remind ourselves of the change.

thanks! it’s nice to have a workaround, but pity it doesn’t exist in a more solidified form.

Normally, for this I use a system line, albeit the fermata solution might be better in some cases. The line is specially useful if there are more than 1 measure of G.P. You can also use an invisible line, but with visible centered text.
