I don’t think so, but it’s certainly a very old mistake on my part in my early days in the software, because this silent note persists during updates.
thanks a lot.
Anything you’ve done will be in the user settings files. They are in different locations on Mac and PC. At worst, you could remove the preferences.xml file, and see how that changes things. (After relaunch.)
I’m having the same problem on Dorico 6 Pro. MIDI note 84 (C5) won’t enter from the MIDI kybd. I either have to mouse it in or play a C#, then cancel the #. I wish I knew how to track down the problem.
Hi @DonO1 (and @BENOIT_SERRIER), to find out if that note is mapped to a Key Command (and so deactivated for note input), quit Dorico, go into your Dorico system folder (*), open the keycommands_en.json file (en is for English, it may be a different language in your system) with a text editor. Find the line that contains MIDI:NOTEON84, and delete that string, save and restart Dorico; or take a note of which command it is linked to and delete the MIDI command assignment from the Properties > Key Commands dialogue.
(*) On MacOS the Dorico system folder is here:
/Users/Your User Name/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6
