GA Patterns Start in the middle of the pattern

I don’t think this happened before, but patterns are playing from the middle of the pattern and not at the beginning.

Cubase 12/ GA 5 / OSX 14.2.1 / MacMini M2Pro 32gb ram.

  1. Create a new empty project
  2. Add Groove agent, load any pattern/kit
  3. Create a 4-bar section
  4. draw a note that plays a pattern that lasts for 4 bars

Hit play

The pattern will start to play on bar 2 of the pattern and not bar 1 as it used to.

Previous behaviour was that the pattern would start to play at bar 1

I have the same/similar issue . Bar one for me is a count in bar. The groove starts on Bar two (with a four bar phrase) but doesn’t actually start the groove on bar two.
Anyone have a fix for this? I guess there must be a way to tell Groove Agent that the beginning of a phrase is at a certain place.

It’s the “Display Bar Offset” setting. Anything other than “0” seems to be wonky.

You might be able to try 2 or 4. I think I had it a 3 so that explained the wonkieness.

Kinda dumb, but there you go.

I’m kinda new to the terminology so pleb alert.
Please treat me like an idiot and explain where I find Display Bar Offset and then how do I adjust it.

oh right.

Project->Project Set up. In the bottom left.

Thank you. Messing around with the offset just moves the pattern left or right. It doesn’t start the drum sequence where I would like it to start. (in this case, bar two)

Solution found! If you un-highlight the ‘Sync to beat’ button on Groove Agent, the sequence starts whenever you place the corresponding note in Cubase. You have to do this for any note you play and there may be a way to do this when you record your sequences.
