HI everyone,
I just released a 2h30 musical fairy tales album with Cubasis, and especially for the dialogues, I missed a lot the ability to control gain and to measure the loudness, therefore the result was not so great regarding overall loudness consistency.
I therefore suggest the team the following changes :
- In the audio clip edition window, replace the normalize button (useless because based on the clip peak) by a set gain button. Ability to choose between locators or the selected clips. Ability to choose between absolute or relative value
- On the bottom left corner of the clip, show LUFS values : instant (when playing), integrated, and dynamic range. Values change in background when setting the gain. May be a disable by clicking for performance reasons
- Possibility to navigate through the whole timeline, not only the clip which was selected, in order to be able to select several clips and set gain at once
- Add a toogle button to play either the dry clip (like today) or the track. This allows to see the changes in loudness with the effects (especially the compressions)
By the way, remove the history recording of the gain, this can inflate the project size a lot.
Does it make sense, what do you think ? Thank you.
