So I run my whole system now at -18 because I use outboard gear and overall compared to 10 years ago…its light years ahead of where I was
However, because the clips are all now calibrated pre static mix etc, without clip zoom its pretty clunky. Easily fixed by clip zoom but it would be so much easier if I could have something to its just a button press to be exactly the right zoom. Pretty much I want -15 peaks to start being graphically clipped and -18 to be the “always visible” so the overall rough picture of diff elements is more a muscle mem thing…which is it…its just the zoom crawls around
Below is a sample of -18 with -12 peaks…because most percussive stuff works best with a wave/crest around these levels (for me…I mix for audiophile not loudness and you dont get something for nothing)
Where is clip zoom memory located?
EDIT: I did try just using a repeating macro but
It takes 17 mouse wheel clicks to get to the perfect zoom
However in macros, the zoom waveform is really coarse and even 4 is too far.
Hmm…
The controls/widgets are not exposed so I can even use AHK to create a quick macro
