Gap between clef and note?

After much searching through Engraving Options, I can’t find the option to change the gap between the clef and the first note on the staff. Is there one? If there were a key signature it would be between the key signature and the first note.

Have you looked at Engraving Options > Spacing Gaps ??

I did @benwiggy and none of them seem to apply to this.

Interesting problem. With no key sig showing, the gap after key sig is not included.

I’m curious to see an example of the space you would prefer!

Actually I can’t even get the space to contract after a key signature. Here is the spacing I need for small musical examples at the bottom of the pages where space is very limited:
Preferred spacing for example

Aha! Footnotes. Trying to think of ideas: Could you make your example using a clef change and scale the clef up to full size? That gives you more control of the spacing.

If you’re just exporting footnote graphics, try Spacing Gaps / “Minimum gap after barline” even though there’s no barline. You can even set it to a negative value if you want.

@FredGUnn There I go being too literal again. I sailed right by that option because it said after a barline. Thanks so much!
