Get this error: RtApiAsio::getDeviceInfo: error

After SpectraLayers crashes, I get this error. No audio will work on my laptop until I reboot.

I’m getting this error, too. Different sound driver. Only happens in SpectraLayers 11.0.40. It’s a random thing and I have to reboot my UAD Apollo. Then, it works for a time. I put a ticket in with UAD. They told me to clean reinstall sound drivers. After a time, it still happened. It’s hard to believe it’s not SpectraLayers 11. But this only happens with SpectraLayers.

“Start Error #10: RtApiCore::startStream: system error (kAudioHardwareNotRunningError) starting callback procedure on device (131).”

same here.
I have my Steinberg USB ASIO driver selected, but SpectraLayers tries to initialize a complete different ASIO driver, which of course has no hardware connected.
SpectraLayers 11 works for me with WASAPI only.

Unfortunately SpectraLayers seems to try and hog onto Audio Devices even those never selected on boot. Very similar to ProTools and Davinci Resolve in that regard and it causes so many issues and crashes and also wider issues in the OS too when Software does that. Why these older legacy products don’t update to just opening the device last selected is beyond me. Why do they need to re-connect to every device when starting even after you set what device to connect the end points to last time you used the software is frustrating! Also SpectraLayers like Davinci Resolve connects and unconnects endpoints with transport. This again causes all sorts of audio issues where you might not be using straight 1 to 1 endpoints, virtual devices, virtual patchbays etc so it should just leave everything connected all the time imo, that’s how the more stable software seems to manage audio devices.
