Hi, Is there a way to get velocity information into an automation lane? I know you can get controller information into an automation lane by using: functions > Extract MIDI Automation. Is there a corresponding way to show velocity information in an automation lane? Thanks.

Velocity is an attribute of the MIDI Note On/Off messages. Therefore it doesn’t make sense to have it displayed without the notes.
Thanks, but the automation lanes show under the notes in track view.
Cubase has Automation Tracks in the Project Window. The MIDI Key Editor does not have Automation Tracks, it has MIDI CC lanes along with lanes for Pitch Bend and Velocity.
Not sure what you’re referring to.
You can only have a velocity information if there is a note event. So in order to have velocity on an automation lane Cubase would also need to display the notes there. Which is basically the in-place editor.
So your feature-request is already implemented.
Hi, thanks for your replies. This JPG shows what I’m aiming for. It would be nice to have an automation lane that shows velocity like the three I have pictured here which show volume, expression and modulation. If that isn’t possible, is there a way to show the velocity bars in the track window along with the notes? Thanks.

Partially, yes. You can open MIDI→Open In-Place Editor.
You’ll then have something like this:
Thanks M.C. That works.
