Get with it STEINBERG—Linux, Ubuntu—Cubase/Nuendo

(It’s all a rumor!)
I really really hope the development team is now discussing this behind closed doors at STEINBERG headquarters. This is going to be a rapid acceleration of users switching from Microsoft Windows to the Linux platform. I’m ready to switch as soon as STEINBERG software engineers port over all of the STEINBERG product lines to this OS for the people—format. With Lenovo taking the charge with its massive move to Linux, It’s going to happen and you guys need to be on the edge of this. We need to breathe new life into PC’s (young and old) that are falling behind Apple technology. And, as a studio producer, I am sick and tired of dealing with Microsoft Windows. Done!

Some will but most wont.. you always could uninstall windows from pc’s and install linux..

Lenovo is not switching their main line from windows to linux.. they simply offer an option to buy a product with linux pre-installed becauss linux has 5% of the pc market.

The hype currently generated by sensionalists is disingenuous.

Btw, funny that you are talking about windows and linux and then just throw Apple(i presume you are talking about mac os) in the mix.

You’re spot on. I should always check things out before I post. That was an emotional response, I’ll own it. Thanks for your reply. Appreciate you.

So–I still secretly wish Steinberg would offer a Linux Cubase Pro, or Nuendo.

”Btw, funny that you are talking about windows and linux and then just throw Apple(i presume you are talking about mac os) in the mix.”

Sure–I could spend thousands getting rid of my HP Z workstations, and buying Mac’s. But— how cool would it be to have blazing speeds on Linux, and a PC, and not contend with a bloated OS like Windows 11, and all the security nonsense.

We work in the field of European animation. Switching to Linux is a logical step these days for many reasons. I think many other European companies feel the same way. In the long run, Steinberg will have no choice but to offer a Nuendo Linux version as well.

@wolf_gang Agreed.

Interesting. Is this because all the rendering and/or creative design work is done in video/picture software that runs Linux?
