Getting Multiple Flows on 1 page

Hi everyone,
I have a project with 2 flows. I put the music into 2 flows as they have different players (Sections of a choir). Flow 1 - is a ladies trio while Flow 2 is typical SA-T-B 3-staff organization.
Right now Flow 1 is on page 1 and Flow 2 is on page 2. I would like Flow 2 to start immediately after Flow 1 on Page 1. I’ve not been able to determine how to do that nor conversely why Dorico is preventing that from occurring. Once I add the lyrics, flow 2 will expand to 5 or 6 systems and I would very much like both flows - which make up one piece of music - to appear on 2 pages - not 3 pages.
I am a refugee from Finale and have found Dorico for the most part quite intuitive and easy to use. However, this particular issue is stopping me in my tracks.

Thank you for your help! If you can suggest a better way to achieve what I am trying to do, please let me know - I’m happy to learn.
BTW - I wanted to ensure I could get the music to look how I wanted before I put in lyrics, and expressions, etc. It is just bare bones notes at the moment.

One issue is that you have added system breaks and moved systems around manually. It’s generally much better in Dorico to work with the layout options to get as close as possible to the look you want, and only adjust things by hand at the end.

Along the same lines, it’s generally better to input everything – including lyrics and expressions – before dealing with layout. The automatic choices that Dorico makes will be different when everything is in place, and you should see what that looks like before you arrange things. This may be a different workflow from what you’re used to with Finale.

Thanks - I have that option selected - that’s why I am perplexed on why flow 2 does not start on at the end of flow 1 on page 1. Let me know if you think of anything else that may be causing it.

Could you upload an empty version of this project? Or the whole project if you don’t mind.

My guess is: The settings would fill the page and you have manually made space for the next flow. But that’s not how things work.
Reset your page, remove manual overrides, and then reduce the setting that governs spacing between systems.

I think @asherber already gave that answer above. Try removing all manual adjustments by choosing Reset Layout in the left-hand Graphic Editing panel in Engrave mode (for breaks) and under Engrave > Note Spacing and Engrave > Staff Spacing. You could also delete the layout in Setup mode and create a new one. That will likely solve your problem.

After that, input the lyrics and expressions (and anything else you want to add) and only then see if you need to make any manual adjustments.

Thank you for your input - it is much appreciated. I entered everything as recommended and then after playing with some of the vertical spacing parameters I was able to achieve the following.

As I need this to be on 2 pages, I am still struggling to get the first system on page 2 to appear on page 1. If that were to happen, I believe this would all fit on 2 pages.

Can you please upload your project or PM me with it.
