I feel foolish asking this question, but I’m not the most experienced Cubase user.
I have installed the Waves Pitch Shift bundle and seem to have linked Waves Tune to Rewire, but after that I can’t get anything to work. When I click on the plugin all I get is a black screen.
Waves themselves don’t offer any tutorials and the only videos I can find on You Tube don’t mention Cubase. Can anyone help me and/or point me in the right direction so I can start using Waves Tune?
I don’t think there is anything special about waves tune - It’s a standard VST plugin (with an ‘optional’ rewire component) - and works fine on my PC
The question should be why the screen is black…without more information it’s impossible to say but I’d suggest it’s possibly:
- graphics driver
- hdpi issue
- corrupted waves install
I don’t think any of those are the case. Look at the attached screenshot: the insert is correctly installed and shows up and when I click on it, I get the Waves Tune window, but it’s blank.
I simply think that the protocol for applying the Waves Tune insert to the vocal track hasn’t been followed, mainly because Waves Tune instructs how to install the app (and it is successfully installed) but provides no instructions as to how to use it, and, as I said in my first post, the only videos I can find refer to Pro Tools, but there’s nothing for Cubase.

It’s bugging me, so if anyone can help, please do.
PS As you can see, I use Macs.
hi
I’m on windows and use Waves Tune all the time - there is nothing special about it, apart from using rewire. It’s just a ‘normal’ plugin.
Just put the insert on a track (usually vocals, but whatever) and away you go. From what I can see I don’t think you are doing anything wrong at all - you can’t really go ‘wrong’
It’s hard to tell from your screen grab but the window for the plug in seems a bit larger than I would expect. The problem with Waves Tune is the small window you have to work with. That’s why I wonder if it’s a hdpi type problem.
A quick google show lots of users having issues with ‘black’ windows using waves plugins.
here’s one issue:
I’d put a support request in with Waves
