I would like to write “gliss.” instead of “gliss”. How do I do that?

I see you added a screenshot after I replied. That’s not a gliss line – are you just writing that as staff text?
If so, you can just change the font style from the formatting toolbar:
Or if you’re going to have this in multiple places, you can define a new paragraph style and apply it to instances of this text. The advantage to a paragraph style is that if you later decide that you don’t want it italic, or you want to change the size, you can just change the paragraph style and all instances will be updated.
