Global Tracks!

Hi Gang,

Using Cubase 11.0.30 on Mac OS 10.15.7,…all good except for the life of me I cannot seem to find the global tracks in the key editor. I’ve followed the manual and on my rig when I go to “Set up Window Layout” there are no options to select “Global Tracks”,…yes, Global tracks exist in the project.

what’s up with this?

OK, so I figured this out. tricky…

Global tracks are only available in the key editor when “open midi track in window” is selected.

weird because I saw a video of a demo where when the midi track was opened in the “lower range” and global tracks were available…

oh well

Perhaps the Global Tracks in the video weren’t actually in the Lower Zone and were just visible in the Project Window. Like this

That, or, depending on what you actually saw in that video, maybe they were using the “Divide Track List” function. That way you can manage yourself which tracks you want to always glue to the top (of the main project window, not the lower zone). I often use this function for sticking stuff like tempo tracks and markers to the top.

(Sorry if this was not what you meant)
