Glyph editor possibility search symbols by their name and enter unicode value directly

Glyph editor possibility search symbols by their name (if multiple results like word mute then of course lists all and user can select needed) and enter unicode value directly. this long menu where is different categories is terrible read in windows (font issue in windows normal windows menu font not good long lists and using lower resolution is not possible (also bigger monitor is not possible) becouse as you know complex music not music can shown nicely then, and windows is not possible easily change font). sometimes i know character unicode code but i cannot enter it directly anywhere (or i can if how?). also i dont always rembmer what catecory it is. even i technically remember what kind thing is but i need think it non native tongue way.

i currently finally found now one what i searched (hihat closed symbol i made custom open-close symbol makes thing easier if i need such i dont need enter all of times open symbol and after it close symbol) but used more time what is needed if we have such tools. i dont understand if others dont understand need for this.

That’s an interesting idea, to have some sort of search function within the glyph-based editors. There is always the SMuFL website, which you can search online, to help you identify the right category for symbols, at least.

You can already use unicode values, fortunately: click Unicode in the area on the right in glyph editor dialogs to switch to the unicode range (as opposed to the SMuFL range), and you can enter values to show results within. If you know the value, enter it in both the from/to fields and only that glyph should appear.

even this net document is hard found it have search function but imagined i can found this symbol what i mean using words mute and close (used both cases depeding instrument says what is called) and hi hat (instrument what its related this case) but no luck.(as i sayed i found it). as i allready stated knowing correct category is not also easy always when they are english and even many languages same things can sayed multple ways. and Unicode range search trick is one what i forgot. and sometimes offline documenation sounds good idea.(but its not steinberg fault if Smful dont have such if there is such some help me found it).
