I find the following notation useful if a group of grace notes needs to start on the beat (the printed example is from Birtwistle’s Nomos, engraved in the 70s). It is especially useful if some grace notes occur before the beat, one occurs on the beat, and the rest occur after the beat. Is there a way to create this in Dorico, but for a single-line-staff percussion instrument?
You can’t notate it directly as Dorico doesn’t support grace notes that start on the beat, but you can do it by manipulating the position of the grace notes using the note spacing tool in Engrave mode.
