Grace period, again

Sorry for asking about this for the thousandth time probably, but I cannot get my head around it, I’ll try keep it short!

I’m going to upgrade from Cubase 7 to Cubase 9.5. In order to have the possibility to grace-period-upgrade to Cubase 10 do I need to wait and activate v9.5 or is the grace period update only for someone who have activated Cubase (at all, any older version) after, or very short before, a new version is released?

Grace period applies to licenses that were activated 4-6 weeks prior to a new version coming out. It also applies if you update to 9.5 now, and activate the 9.5 license after Cubase 10 is available.
