I’m reading all over internet about “Customers who have activated VST Live 2 or earlier versions from November 12, 2025, are eligible for a free, downloadable grace period update to VST Live 3.”
How does this work? When I go to the Steinberg shop, they still want € 39,99 for update from VST Live Pro 2
Maybe your existing licence has been upgraded automatically. Try installing v3, using the download manager, and see if you can activate it.
Please log in to your Steinberg account and check whether you can find the free update under “Vouchers“.

are there any news to this free upgrade to VST 3 ?
I am an early user of VST 1 and VST 2 (Pro) and I didn’t find any voucher in my account and also no way to aktivate VST 3.
It would ba e a nice gift for the longtime users who helped the developers with bug reports and so on…
Well, you can dream, of course, but miracles won’t happen and no one will give you anything. Maybe it will go to the full-time beta testers, who are supposed to be testing and reporting bugs, but judging by the results, they are either there or not…
