Thanks, everybody. Well, it’s easier when you get pointed in the right direction. So with glyph divisi arrows it looks like this:
The Tree Of Life My Soul Hath Seen - Vocal score.pdf (95.8 KB)
I realize the 5-page solution would be more elegant. And I suppose this version really needs first and second time bars on the first page. But I don’t really have room for that. The only other option would be to go to a smaller staff size.
I guess my singers have worked with it like this and know it.
Looks very nice and the coda structure is a great way to go. It’s very clear what’s supposed to happen, and you can still fit it all in one sheet of 11x17 front and back now if doing a booklet.
One additional engraving thought: perhaps for v3 you could center your single line of lyrics between the staves. They tend toward the upper stave, but there’s a little room to nudge them down for a more even look. Just a thought. Otherwise it is all lovely and clear.
Thanks James @Romanos
You’re right about the lyrics in v. 3. I’ll nudge them down a bit.
Thank to everyone for their help.
The divider arrows only appear when one staff divides to two, and/or two staves return to one. There is also the problem of changing clefs.
Thanks! I was thrown with the U+E00D character codes, since I don’t have a numbers pad with my laptop. But, just searching for “divide” in the “insert music text” area quickly found the divide arrows, and it was a quick process to move them to the correct place in Engrave Mode. I used the “Shift-X” method that “pianoleo” suggested.
I’ve been able to use the glyph division arrows in several projects by Shift-X>Right-click>Insert Music Text and then select the split arrows, and then change the size in the Properties>Custom Scale to 350. This project is giving me grief and I’ve tried many times to change the size but it doesn’t make a difference. As a work-around I changed the font size and then dragged it to the end of the staff, but it moves around, so that’s not a good option. I’ve attached a pic of the “problem” (the mark is pretty tiny on the top stave) and then another of one that worked.
